Overview
Louisiana’s trust laws are unique—and while they provide important protections, they can also create limitations that impact estate planning strategies. In this session, Leon Rittenberg III, a Board Certified Tax Specialist and Board Certified Estate Planning & Administration Specialist, will explore how Louisiana’s legal framework differs from other states and what those differences mean for practitioners and their clients.
Rittenberg will examine key restrictions within Louisiana trust law and compare them with more flexible options available in other jurisdictions. Attendees will gain insight into how other states structure trusts, the planning opportunities they offer, and situations where those alternatives may benefit Louisiana clients.
Designed for CPAs and advisors involved in tax and estate planning, this session will provide practical perspectives on navigating Louisiana’s distinct legal landscape while understanding the broader trust planning tools available beyond state borders.
Non-CPA staff, student, and candidate affiliates are invited to attend at the member rate (free).
