As client expectations continue to evolve, many firms are looking for ways to move beyond traditional compliance work and provide more strategic value to small business clients. This session will explore practical approaches to strengthening client services through advisory-minded communication, process improvement, and operational support tailored to entrepreneurs and small business owners. Attendees will discuss ways firms can identify opportunities for expanded services, improve client relationships, create more efficient workflows, and position themselves as long-term strategic partners rather than transactional service providers. The session will also touch on common challenges small businesses face related to financial literacy, organization, and decision-making, along with ways accounting professionals can better support those needs.
Non-CPA staff, student, and candidate affiliates are invited to attend at the member rate (free).

Catherine Roe, Owner, Cowart Roe CPA LLC
Catherine Roe is a CPA, management consultant, educator, and entrepreneur with over fifteen years of experience in public accounting, corporate finance, and academia. She is the founder of Cowart Roe CPA and Cowart Roe Academy, where she helps small businesses improve financial clarity, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making through advisory-focused accounting and consulting services. In addition to leading her remote CPA firm, Catherine teaches accounting at the college level and regularly speaks on financial literacy, business systems, workflow efficiency, and strategic growth for entrepreneurs and small businesses. She also serves as Chapter President of the New Orleans Chapter of the Louisiana Society of CPAs and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organization and Management with a specialization in Entrepreneurship at Liberty University.
